1. Who we are
WiWi is a video discovery and viewing application operated by Media House Agency, Skopje, Macedonia. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the WiWi apps for Android TV and Android mobile, and the wiwi.tv website. It describes the service as it works today; section 13 covers changes.
2. Using WiWi as a guest
Signing in is optional. WiWi works fully as a guest, with the same content and the same features.
Used that way, your favourite videos, the channels you have switched on or off, the podcasts you follow and the country you selected are saved locally on your device or television. They are not uploaded to our servers, they do not move between devices, and they are not visible to us. Uninstalling the app removes them.
3. If you sign in with Google
You can sign in with Google, on a television by scanning a QR code with your phone. We use Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication, a Google service. We receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google, and an account identifier. We never receive your Google password. Google processes this under its own privacy policy.
What signing in changes. Your favourite videos, your channel selections and the podcasts you follow are then saved to our servers against your account, so that the same choices appear on your television and in the WiWi phone app. This is what makes one account work across screens. If you would rather it stayed on the device, use WiWi as a guest.
You can have all of it deleted at any time — see section 12.
4. Usage measurement in the apps
The WiWi apps include Google Analytics for Firebase, which tells us how the apps are used so that we can fix what is broken and decide what to build next.
It records an app-instance identifier generated for your installation, your device model and operating system version, the app version, an approximate region derived from your network address, and events such as which screens are opened and how long a session lasts. This is processed by Google as our service provider, under Google’s own terms, and may be stored on Google’s servers outside your country.
We use it in aggregate, to understand the product. We do not use it to build a personal profile of you, and we do not sell it. You can switch it off in Settings.
5. What our servers receive
The app requests its channel lists and video catalogue from our API at api.wiwi.tv. To deliver a response, that server necessarily sees the request as it arrives, including the network address it came from. We do not retain access logs of those requests. Our hosting provider may process traffic data transiently as a technical necessity of operating the connection.
6. What WiWi does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers are collected.
- No crash or diagnostics reporting is built into the apps.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal information with data brokers.
- We do not use what you saved to target you with anything.
7. YouTube and other platforms
WiWi organises video that publishers and creators have made publicly available on third-party platforms — currently YouTube. WiWi does not host video files. When you play something, playback happens through that platform, and your interaction with it is governed by that platform’s own terms and privacy policy, not ours. Further platforms are planned; this policy will be updated before any are added.
8. The wiwi.tv website
The website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no login. It does load its typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google’s servers receive the network address of visitors in order to serve the font file. See the Cookie Policy.
9. Advertising
WiWi currently shows no advertising anywhere. We may introduce it in the apps in future. If we do, this policy will be updated to describe what is collected and by whom, and the change will take effect before any advertising appears — not after. The website will not carry advertising.
10. Children
WiWi is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through sign-in, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict personal information we hold about you, to object to processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority. Write to privacy@wiwi.tv and we will respond.
12. Deleting your data
If you never signed in, there is no WiWi account and nothing on our side to delete: removing the app removes what WiWi stored on your device.
If you did sign in, you can ask us to delete your account together with the favourites, channel selections and podcast subscriptions saved against it. See Account Deletion.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the service changes in a way that affects it, and we will change the effective date above. Material changes — a new data source, advertising, a new measurement tool — will be described here before they take effect.
